A characterization of helical polynomial curves of any degree

چکیده
We give a full characterization of helical polynomial curves of any degree and a simple way to construct them. Existing results about Hermite interpolation are revisited. A simple method to select the best quintic interpolant among all possible solutions is suggested.

One-point Goppa Codes on Some Genus 3 Curves with Applications in Quantum Error-Correcting Codes
We investigate one-point algebraic geometric codes CL(D, G) associated to maximal curves recently characterized by Tafazolian and Torres given by the affine equation yl = f(x), where f(x) is a separable polynomial of degree r relatively prime to l. We mainly focus on the curve y4 = x3 +x and Picard curves given by the equations y3 = x4-x and y3 = x4 -1. As a result, we obtain exact value of min...
متن کاملDetermination of a Matrix Function in the Form of f(A)=g(q(A)) Where g(x) Is a Transcendental Function and q(x) Is a Polynomial Function of Large Degree Using the Minimal Polynomial
Matrix functions are used in many areas of linear algebra and arise in numerical applications in science and engineering. In this paper, we introduce an effective approach for determining matrix function f(A)=g(q(A)) of a square matrix A, where q is a polynomial function from a degree of m and also function g can be a transcendental function. Computing a matrix function f(A) will be time- consu...
متن کاملWave Motion and Stop-Bands in Pipes with Helical Characteristics Using Wave Finite Element Analysis
Pipes are widely used in many industrial and mechanical applications and devices. Although there are many different constructions according to the specific application and device, these can show helical pattern, such as spiral pipes, wire-reinforced pipes/shells, spring-suspension, and so on. Theoretical modelling of wave propagation provides a prediction about the dynamic behavior, and it is f...
متن کاملRepresentation of Conics in the Oriented Projective Plane
We present a geometric de nition of conic sections in the oriented projective plane and describe some of their nice properties. This de nition leads to a very simple and unambiguous representation for a ne conics and conic arcs. A conic (of any type) is represented by the homogeneous coordinates of its foci and one point on it, hence, the metric plays a major role in this case as opposed to the...
متن کاملRational Curves Are Not Unit Speed in the General Euclidean Space
We invoke the characterization of Pythagorean-hodograph polynomial curves and prove that it is impossible to parameterize any real curves, other than a straight line, by rational functions of its arc length.
